Adult Bible Fellowship

Our heart’s desire is to equip the saints for the work of local church ministry (Ephesians 4:11-12). The primary way we do this is with our Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF) program. We offer new courses every twelve weeks. The courses are designed to take place for twelve classes during the 45 minute teaching time period (9:30-10:15)

We begin ABF at 9:00 AM with coffee and bagels for those that desire to fellowship with one another. At 9:15, we then move to our classrooms for prayer before the class begins.

For the third quarter of 2011, starting on 14 August, there will be three separate ABF classes offered.

1)      Brian Sayers: Old Testament Survey (this is a one-year ABF). This ABF is a survey of the history, literature, and teachings of the Old Testament. Those attending this ABF will gain knowledge of the main people and events, types of literature, chronology; culture; and theology of the Old Testament. The ABF will consist of reading and studying the whole of the Old Testament. There are high-expectations for those participating in this ABF.  This ABF will take place in the upstairs chapel.

2)      Jon Weidman: Habakkuk. This Old Testament book is unusual as a prophetic book in that it never addresses the people of Judah directly but rather is a dialogue between the prophet Habakkuk and God. This ABF will examine key themes in the book; God is merciful; wickedness will eventually be punished, and the righteous will ultimately see God’s justice. It is from Habakkuk we find a key phrase teaching us how we are saved, “but the righteous will live by his faith.” This ABF will take place in the office area library.

3)      Neil Peterson: Disciple One Another. During this ABF, guidance will be given on how to conduct effective and profitable discipleship relationships. There will be practical helps given and time of discussion devoted to help people structure and develop Biblical principles for their discipleship time.  The majority of the time will be set aside for people to engage in actual one-on-one or small group discipleship. This ABF will take place in the upstairs conference room.

We highly encourage that you join us in one of these three classes.
